Resume Part 2

Ok, now you know the basics your name, address and the following are optional things to put on the first page:
  • Date of Birth
  • Marital Status
  • Drivers licence

You can include a summary of the type of position you are looking for however you need to constantly up date this depending on the position you are applying for. You can also include sub headings and a brief outline of your experience under those headings i.e. for a sale position you could include subheadings of Management, Sales, Marketing Research.

Next you would include your employment history from your most recent going back 10 years or a maximum of 6 positions which ever has the least number but provide the most detail i.e. if you have had over 6 positions in lease than 10 years only go back as far as 6 positions.

Writing a resume part 1

There are many people who have never written or needed a resume but now with changing times they do. The big question is what is the right way and what is the wrong to write a resume or CV?

Well just to make things difficult there is not right or wrong way and it all depends on the position you are applying for.

Now your wondering what would I know well I've spent the past 11 years working in recruitment in one capacity or another and I spend all day every day looking at resumes or CV's of people applying for jobs.

What I am going to show you over the next few weeks is the secrets to making your resume or CV stand out from the rest and if you really want help with something specific then make a comment on this blog and I will try and help.
